About Jules
Jules Madden has a rich history of over 20 years of experience in illustration, art, and creative expression.
Her illustration career has seen collaborations with renowned companies such as Penguin, Hardie Grant Egmont, Lark Books, Surf Lifesaving Victoria, Child magazine (including Melbourne’s and Sydney’s Child), Eco Mag, Personal Investor Magazine, and Educational Textbook publishers. She has also worked with Saatchi & Saatchi, RACV, and contributed to a television advertisement for the Melbourne Sustainability Festival.
Jules is also the author and illustrator of two beautiful picture books, The Thirsty Flowers and Koby Cumulus.
After an enriching career in illustration and the life-changing experience of raising two beautiful and inspiring daughters, Jules turned her focus inward, channeling her creativity into personal artwork. Her passion for craftsmanship led her to share a wide array of craft tutorials on the renowned Alisa Burke blog, where her work has inspired a global audience.
In 2025, Jules continues to evolve her artistic practice. Her current work has shifted away from the vibrant, maximalist style that defined her earlier career, embracing a more refined, less-is-more approach. This new phase includes an exciting exploration of pottery, where she blends simplicity and elegance with her signature creativity.
The best place to follow her to keep up to date on her latest projects is her Instagram.
